Dallas Symphony Orchestra drops historic NFT on Rarible
Proceeds will benefit MET Opera Orchestra musicians impacted by pandemic
The Dallas Symphony Orchestra (DSO) is one of the world’s leading classical music organizations. One of the most innovative, too, which is proved by this week’s NFT drop!
The unique NFTs commemorate a historic, collaborative concert that took place at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center (Dallas, TX) in early May 2021.
The concert marked the first time many non-DSO musicians performed for a live audience since the coronavirus shut down in March 2020. Separating itself as one of the largest orchestras to perform in over a year, the New York Times dubbed the concert “one of the most dramatic musical coups of the pandemic.”
3 NFT tiers
$100 (25 Available): Audio of the final movement of Mahler's First Symphony and exclusive photos of the musicians and the performances.
$1,000 (15 Available): Video of the first movement, interview with Fabio Luisi, and a ticket to the 2022 reunion concert featuring collaborative chamber music in New York City.
$50,000(opening bid): Video of the full concert, behind-the-scenes footage (rehearsal footage, interviews, and features), and the NFT buyer VIP experience at the reunion concert (dinner with the artists, roundtrip airfare from another U.S. city, and two nights of hotel stay).
All proceeds of the NFT sale will be dedicated to MET Orchestra musicians impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
