How we make Rarible a safe space: 2021 marketplace updates
Mark Cuban's first NFTs, featured section, Twitter verification, refreshed leaderboard and other improvements
Hello, friends!
We hope you had a blast on holidays and a wonderful beginning of the year. For the team, 2021 is off to a good start!
Last week, we released a new major marketplace update. In this issue of our regular community newsletter, we will walk you through the new features and some of the cool highlights which include Mark Cuban’s and Soulja Boy’s first NFTs.
Featured section & refreshed leaderboard
You might have already noticed that Rarible has a new look — and a cool upgrade of the social features.
In the Featured section, you now can quickly access exciting NFT-related content: important updates from the team, tips & articles from the community, partnerships and curated artworks selection.
The extended leaderboard has also found a new sweet spot!
Removed orders: note from the dev team
Among other things in this update, we dropped support for an old technology which we used before mid-November to put items on sale. This was a necessary move as supporting several technologies made new features development significantly harder.
As a result, some of the items were removed from sale. Unfortunately, due to security reasons we can not put them back automatically, as only creators can confirm listing item on sale by putting their signature.
However, we want to emphasise that this process is completely free and does not require you to pay any fees. If you face any payments requests when putting items back on sale, please contact our support and do not approve the transactions! 💛
Link your Twitter account to Rarible
You can now verify & link your Twitter account to your profile on Rarible.
It’s an important addition to the verification tools on the marketplace, as it creates an additional layer of trust for creators and collectors. So we highly recommend that you link yours!
Mandatory cover for video NFTs
Previously when minting video NFTs, some users didn’t notice that a cover should be added and ended up with an empty grey preview.
We made sure that you can’t mint a video NFT without cover anymore, which helps an item to stand out on the marketplace.
